This professionally operated program allows children to experience a rich diversity of growth activities in a Catholic environment. The activities are planned to complement the philosophy and value systems of St. Peter School and the family. The schedule for the Extended Day Care Program consists of specific times for play, snack, study, games, arts and crafts, and computer. There is also time set aside for homework. Within a family environment, the program strives to provide individual attention, respect, and security for children of working parents.
A Morning Care program is also in existence to accommodate parents who need to be on their way to work before 8:00 a.m. Students may be dropped off at the cafeteria doors from 7:30 to 8:00. Students are supervised until 8:00 a.m. when they are either sent outside or to their classrooms until 8:15. The Morning Care fee is paid daily: $1.00 for 7:30-8:00 and $.50 for 7:45-8:00.
Administration and Staff
The Saint Peter Extended Day Care Program is administered by the Pastor and Principal of St. Peter School and staffed by a director and two teacher aides. These people, employed by the school, work together to help each child grow to maturity and self-respect, as well as to maintain an atmosphere wherein respect and understanding of others is realized.
Time
The Extended Day Care Program is open from 2:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. every day school is in session beginning with the opening day of school and closing on the last day of school. A parent may register a child every day for the entire time or on specific days of the week with a special pick-up time. Staff members are employed until 6:00 P.M. It is only common courtesy to respect the time of closure. A fee will be assessed for late pick-ups if the director ascertains that a late pick-up, or a history of late pick-ups occurs without justifiable cause.
Finances
Fees are the sole support of the St. Peter Extended Day Care Program, a needed service to many parents. A non-refundable deposit check of $15.00 for one child, $20.00 for two children, $25.00 for three or more children, made payable to St. Peter School, is paid at the time of registration. A $20.00 charge will be assessed for all returned checks.
The financial guidelines of the St. Peter Extended Day Care is a flat rate of $4.00 per hour, per family. The fee includes a cold drink served daily. Children are permitted to bring their own snacks.
The monthly fee is due on the 15th of each month following the child's stay in the Extended Day Care Program. The monthly fee is based on the times indicated on the "Extended Day Sign Out Chart." At the end of each month, parents will be issued a statement indicating the amount which is due for the preceding month. If a parent or guardian fails to meet the Extended Day Care Program fee payment due on the 15th of each month and does not make adequate arrangements with the director, the child will not be allowed to continue in the program.
